Actons Named Farm of the Year --- Award from Chignecto Soil & Crop Association

Congratulations to this local family of hard working farmers...

Facebook messaging from Andrew Black....

"It was a packed house at the Chignecto Soil & Crop Association awards and banquet night at the Sackville Legion last night. My wife and I and several Tantramar Councilors joined farmers, members, industry folks and family and friends and had the pleasure of Margaret Johnson, the Minister of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries to take part in the festivities.
At the end of the night the award was given out for farm of the year which went to Dave, Anna and Dean Acton's farm and the honor was well deserved.
This was one of the most enjoyable evenings my wife and I have had in a long while. The conversations were great, the crowd was happy, warm and welcoming and the meal (as always) from the Sackville Legion was delicious. During the address by Dean and Spencer Acton, Dean commented on how important the Chignecto Isthmus Project was to protecting the viable agricultural industry that we have in our community, words directed at everyone but more pointedly at Tantramar Council and the Minister."
