20th anniversary of the release of "Sail Away" ...



David Gray was born in Manchester in 1970. By The time he was nine years old he had moved to Wales with his family whew he was raised until he left to study at the University of Liverpool. He began playing in punk bands where he lived and also played in a few bands while at college where he began to experiment with a more poetic form of writing. After Liverpool he moved to London where he could be closer to the action and the heart of the music business. Here. he signed to Hut records in the UK and Caroline In the U.S. His first release followed shortly after-wards ' the single 'Birds without Wings ' in 1992.

His debut album, A Century Ends was released to great acclaim in the first half of 1993- ten tracks of anger, love, passion and just about every other emotion you can think of. It has become a classic In its own right and succeeded in winning over a core of loyal followers who have stayed with him ever since. Following a full tour of Europe. David returned to record his second album Flesh which was released in 1994. Continuing to work with Hut in Europe under the Virgin umbrella, however, a lack of support from the label eventually lead to him being dropped from the label. He was quickly snapped up by EMI records. Meanwhile his profile and popularity In Ireland began to rise rapidly. "No Disco" (Network 2's groundbreaking) alternative music program hosted by the now legendary Donal Dineen) played his videos constantly as well as showcasing his live potential in televised sessions.

Gray's third album Sell, Sell, Sell, was released by EMI in 1996. For some reason the release was restricted to the UK and Ireland despite mainland Europe crying out for more of his material. Live performances continued to be David Gray's forte.

Enabling him to build up a gigging reputation that is second to none, and causing him to sell out venues whenever he tours. Additionally, his reputation won him a series of prestigious support slots with the likes of Radio head to Dave Matthews.

Gray's fourth and most recent album, White Ladder. was self financed, recorded in a London Flat with the windows open and the trucks rumbling past, and is released in his own label IHT. It owes as much to the sampler as to the guitar but retains David's distinctive touches, the wishful vocals and sublime melodies.

White Ladder went straight into the Irish Top 30 And shot up the charts as his sold out December Tour of Ireland wended its way around the country. Meanwhile, 5 tracks from the album provided the backbone for the soundtrack of Kathy Burke's new film, " This Year's Love."

As the world eased itself into 1999, "This Year's Love" was released as the first single from "White Ladder". The album refused to leave the Irish charts. "Babylon" was the second single taken from the album and was followed by sold out 4,500 capacity headline gig at the Big Beat Festival in Galway in July which only served to emphasize David's meteoric rise and brought the album into the Irish top 5(11 months after release)

David's Slane warm up gig at HQ sold out in 48 hours, the performance at Slane Castle with Robble Williams and Stereophonics went down a treat: David won a Heineken Hot Press award in 'Guest of the Nation' category and finished off the year with a new single 'Please Forgive Me'. The video was A listed on MTV UK & Ireland. The single, which received the remix treatment from Paul Hartnol of Orbital fame, went down a storm at clubs in Ireland and the UK.

David returned for a full Irish tour in December 1999, culminating in an astonishing gig at the Point Depot on December 22nd...all gigs again Sold Out. White Ladder had already reached 90,000 sales (6 times platinum) and reached no 1 In the Irish album charts on 14th January 2000. more than a year after its release. It remained in the top slot for five weeks.

*Current sales of White Ladder are 14 times platinum in Ireland, having sold over 1,000,000 in the UK it is now three times platinum in UK, and has now achieved Gold status.

Central Banks – A Rothschild Scheme For The Enslavement Of Humanity.

Central banks and central bankers are the reason why the world is in economic and martial turmoil and why many millions of people languish in the pits of poverty and financial ruin.

Central banks are privately owned or controlled cartels which covertly run the world. They operate for the exclusive profit of a small group of powerful families whose death grip on global finance can be traced back generations. They control governments, monarchies, and multinational organizations like the UN, the WHO, the WTO, and a host of other influential bodies.

Using massive wealth accumulated fraudulently over generations they’ve managed to co-opt or illicitly influence political parties, trade unions, the law courts, medical associations, religious hierarchies, universities & academies, mass media, and the like, to promote their policies and to eradicate all opposition. They wield their inordinate global control by indoctrinating chosen “leaders” into powerful secret societies and insider groups like the Freemasons, Bilderberg, Council on Foreign Relations, just to name a few.

Three essential pillars of their domination of the world economy and global finance are the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Bank for International Settlements. The first two were set up at Bretton Woods in 1944 to plunder and loot and enrich a handful of bankster dynasties. The latter is known as the Central Bank to the world’s central banks. It was set up by British and American banksters in conjunction with the Nazis in 1930 and was guilty of appalling war crimes for which it was never ever punished.

We were fortuitously alerted to the plot of Rothschild-controlled central banks ruling the world by Professor Caroll Quigley in his 1966 book, Tragedy And Hope, a scholarly tome of almost 1,400 pages. Quigley was an insider in the exclusive world of the corporatists and the international bankers and had access to private research material. For some unknown reason, the original publisher Macmillan only printed 9,000 copies.

Divest MTA is back!

Yesterday we undertook our first action of the year — a message to new Mount Allison President Jean-Paul Boudreau that we’re serious about fossil fuel divestment, a morally and financially viable shift that must come sooner rather than later.
During a celebration to welcome the new President at the Purdy Crawford Centre, ten members of Divest MTA dispersed among the crowd and chatted with a variety of Mount Allison administrative higher-ups, including members of the Board of Regents Finance Committee, about the ethical imperative of fossil fuel divestment. Hundreds of pamphlets and orange square patches were distributed and many great conversations were had.

Organizers finally approached Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau with a copy of the IPCC intergovernmental climate report. Our message to him was short and simple: “Welcome! You could be the President that helps Mount Allison divest— this report emphasizes need for structural change, and we hope you will work with us to make this happen here at MTA. Let's meet soon to further discuss.”
Unfortunately it was extremely difficult to get this short message across as organizers were interrupted at almost every word.
The President begged us, quite literally, not to bring politics into his family and community celebration. We responded by saying that climate change is a priority of our community and it is important to us that in celebrating community we fight for its future. He agreed to meet with us soon.

The Liberals are also pushing two new UN international agreement, the Global Compact on Refugees and the Global Compact on Migration, that commit Canada to accepting more migrants and spend more money on them.

Another of the many worrying aspects of these Compacts is that governments should promote a pro-migrant perspective and discourage media criticism of it.

The Liberals are subordinating the sovereignty, security, freedom, and economic interests of our country to international agreements that put foreigners first, not Canadians.

And it gets worse.

Trudeau keeps spending our money in other countries, just to make himself popular and buy his seat at the UN Security Council.

Did you know that you as a taxpayer are paying for infrastructure in Indonesia? For health and education services to Palestinians? For “sexual health” programs in Congo?

That’s just a small sample of the $5 billion the government of Canada spends every year in other countries, instead of using that money to solve the many problems that we have here.

And what does Scheer’s Conservatives have to say about this? Nothing of course. I’m the only one raising these issues.
