More here with Bruce Wark at local website on Megan Mitton MLA here:
Thanks for this story about Megan Mitton of McGill… I will be curious to see who runs in the next election in Tantramar against her .. however… I can advise that Donna Allen, Libertarian, WILL not be running for office at MLA in Tantramar as she had done in 2024 and that the party is looking for a new candidate to run for the Libertarian Party of New Brunswick [ lpnb.ca ] in this riding. As a side note I considered running in this riding for MLA as Libertarian’s representative but due to a lot of throttling by social media in the world of Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn I would be find it next to impossible to work on any reach of my campaign — so that leaves some opportunity for a liberty lover to step in. Greens don’t really represent rural people and Megan has only been able to keep her MLA spot due to low voter turnout.. something for any candidate who wants to run in the region to think about. Connecting with rural voters is key.. the university town pretty much backs Megan no matter what here and the environmentalist in the region."
The current Mayor Andrew Black is a skateboarder so he understands the joy of the sport very well..
he is also re-offering in this election as Town Councillor for Ward 3 in Tantramar and if he is elected I pledge to hold his feet to the fire as I continue to nudge the project forward.. it has been years of advocating in the region for the youth and unfortunately so far not much has been done due a lack of interest by Matt Pryde Parks & Rec. Hopefully, the new Mayor can kick Matt's ass into gear to really get this long overdue youth project going in 2026.
Matt Pryde hangs out "working" now at the ice rink [not the town hall] and his partner in crime there is Jamie Ferguson [a newer hire by the Town].. Pryde has been asked directly by me to get this project going for a number of years.. and yes, they do now have a Facebook page here [ I do not ] :
Town Councillor's are paid approximately $2,000 per month and have zero accountability to anyone. They don't have to achieve anything and they're certainly not required to submit a list of things they have done to improve lives or the economy .. in fact, they are just warm bodies filling chairs giving lip service in a theatrical performance created to give you the sense they're actually doing anything useful. Meanwhile, bureaucratic organizations such as "South East Regional Service Commission" gain more power and more control every single month that goes by and are funded by government with zero input from the voting public and landowners... but no one wants to discuss that elephant in the room though.. do they? When big decisions are being made by these unelected very well paid minions over your life you have lost your democracy... its just that simple. #DefundSERSC
Since we couldn't help notice that "TantramarNB" fail to use the X platform to engage with the public we considered it a duty to use the platform for connecting with the people of Tantramar.
Susan Holt could learn a lot from a woman like me or Kerry-Lynne Findlay when it comes to accountability and connecting with the public.
Bruce Wark @ Warktimes.com - Councillor Bruce Phinney away on vacation in Alberta is hit with a $1300 fine/penalty?
The Town CAO Jamie Burke nervously admits they spent $10,000 in fees to 'investigate' Bruce Phinney using an entity called "Renaissance Inc."! read more at this link:

Departing his job in Parliament with his chair.. Trudeau ends his political career with a telling photo... I suppose the chair was his "souvenir" of his time spent in Ottawa's parliament? A free chair and a fantastic big pension cheque every year .. read more here: Newsroom
OTTAWA, ON: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on all party leaders to commit to ending the second pension for prime ministers.
“Taxpayers can’t afford to pay for all of the perks in Ottawa and the government should start saving money by ending the prime minister’s second taxpayer-funded pension,” said Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director. “Prime ministers already take a salary nearly six times more than the average Canadian and they already get a lucrative MP pension, so taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for a second pension for prime ministers.”
Trudeau will collect two taxpayer-funded pensions in retirement. Combined, those pensions total $8.4 million, according to CTF estimates.
First, there’s the MP pension.
The payouts for Trudeau’s MP pension will begin at $141,000 per year when he turns 55 years old. It will total an estimated $6.5 million should he live to the age of 90.
Then there’s the prime minister’s pension.
“A prime minister who holds the Office of the Prime Minister for at least four years is entitled to receive a special retirement allowance in addition to their members of Parliament pension benefit,” according to the government of Canada.
The payouts for Trudeau’s prime minister pension will begin at $73,000 per year when he turns 67 years old. It will total an estimated $1.9 million should he live to the age of 90.
Add the $6.5-million MP pension to the $1.9-million prime minister’s pension and Trudeau will collect a total of about $8.4 million.
The prime minister’s current annual salary is $406,200.
Trudeau’s pension payouts would be even higher if not for reforms implemented in 2012, which increased the retirement age, cut benefits and saw MPs increase their own contributions. Prior to the reforms, MPs contributed just $1 for every $24 of taxpayer and federal monies invested in their pensions.
Former prime minister Stephen Harper forfeited an estimated $1 million to $2 million in additional payouts by implementing the reforms. Nevertheless, the CTF estimates Harper’s lifetime pensions will total about $7 million.
“A prime minister already takes millions through their first pension, they shouldn’t be billing taxpayers more for their second pension,” Terrazzano said. “Taxpayers need to see leadership at the top and all party leaders should commit to ending the second pension for future prime ministers.”
“It’s just not true,” says MacGregor, in response to Stokes’ accusations. “I’ve been persistent. I haven’t given up,” says MacGregor. “I ran on a platform of accountability and transparency, and that’s what I’m pursuing.”
"Calgary’s mayor & city council are starting 2025 with a boost to their paychecks for the fourth year in a row raise amounts to just over three per cent, bringing the salary for the city’s 14 councillors to $124, 462.60 per year & the salary for Mayor Jyoti Gondek to $220, 298.83."
Aulac's unelected acclaimed representative Greg Martin 506-536-1337 was appointed Deputy Mayor for a second term by Mayor Andrew Black and holds this meeting in Mayor Black's absence and again repeats the commentary that we are on "unceded" territory which we are not.. he has been asked by telephone on November 19th to stop repeating this commentary in public as it is a fraudulent claim and is not to be made by any politician in Tantramar.. especially considering how old the province of New Brunswick is and because our territory was settled long back in the 1700s by a King who granted lands to settlers. But again to see Deputy Mayor Greg Martin continue to make this claim in defiance of this recent request by a local means that Greg Martin has his own feelings about these land claims, what they mean, and why he must make them to the public on the record without any justification other than saying "well they're doing it everywhere else ... like Toronto".. sorry, but that's not good enough Greg Martin.. please learn about the importance of your legal responsibilities and perhaps be willing to defend your stance in public during question period in the future. Forewarned is forearmed. Is this important to you? Please advise your elected representatives that these fraudulent land claim acknowledgements by our elected local politicians are not something that you support. Thanks.
Welcome to the Libertarian Party of New Brunswick, where we stand firmly on our principles to ensure all individuals have the freedom to live their lives and pursue their interests as they see fit, as long as they do no harm to another. Our core beliefs revolve around significantly reducing the size and intrusiveness of government, cutting and eliminating taxes at every opportunity, and allowing peaceful, honest people to offer their goods and services without inappropriate interference from the government.

"Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s underage accuser was much younger at the time of their relationship than was first thought, her father tells The Chronicle. Some in the public discourse pegged the accusor at 17 years old. That is inaccurate.
“She was much, much younger than that,” the wealthy Canadian businessman told The Chronicle yesterday. He was not a party to the $2.25 million mutual non-disclosure non-disparagement agreement that she signed, in exchange for her continued silence, on the Wednesday evening of October 9th.
The terms of that agreement prevent both the accuser and Trudeau from acknowledging “any aspect” of that relationship, without triggering a six-to-seven-figure liquidated damages clause. That penalty starts at $500,000 and scales up, depending on the magnitude of the breach."
It was enough for Butcher to forego her usual attempts to put a positive spin on her comments: “At the risk of sounding really, really jaded, it probably doesn’t matter what I think should happen with the four councillors representing the 7000 people,” said Butcher, “because I’m starting to feel like it doesn’t matter what we think.”
[ Alison Butcher's realization she is just window dressing in puppet theatre town hall ... but the gravy train cash is so good so she stays in the game .. of course.. ]
