Megan Mitton Green MLA - Tantramar Community Meeting at Cape 16 Market in Strait Shores September 21st, 2026

An opportunity to meet up with "coviet" compliant minion for the United Nations Megan "McGill" Mitton - first elected in 2018 for Tantramar..

On September 21, I’ll be holding a community meeting at the Cape 16 Market in Strait Shores. This is a great time to learn more about what’s happening in provincial politics and in our community, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. I hope to see you there!
---

More here with Bruce Wark at local website on Megan Mitton MLA here:

Some article commentary here:

"S.A. Cunliffe says:

Thanks for this story about Megan Mitton of McGill… I will be curious to see who runs in the next election in Tantramar against her .. however… I can advise that Donna Allen, Libertarian, WILL not be running for office at MLA in Tantramar as she had done in 2024 and that the party is looking for a new candidate to run for the Libertarian Party of New Brunswick [ lpnb.ca ] in this riding. As a side note I considered running in this riding for MLA as Libertarian’s representative but due to a lot of throttling by social media in the world of Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn I would be find it next to impossible to work on any reach of my campaign — so that leaves some opportunity for a liberty lover to step in.
Greens don’t really represent rural people and Megan has only been able to keep her MLA spot due to low voter turnout.. something for any candidate who wants to run in the region to think about. Connecting with rural voters is key.. the university town pretty much backs Megan no matter what here and the environmentalist in the region."

CHMA FM reports...

"Sunday’s meeting also brought a change in leadership, with Noonan stepping down as president. She said the corporation’s membership reached 77 following the AGM, while work continues with a lawyer on an updated version of its bylaws, now in its second draft.

Robb said he plans to continue challenging the membership process. He is preparing information for a lawyer with the intention of filing a statement of claim and said he wants a court to clarify the corporation’s powers and the rights of people connected to the property.

“What I want the court to make a clear statement about is what are the roles and responsibilities and rights of the corporation?” said Robb. “What are the rights of the residents of Strait Shores? What are the rights of campers? What are the rights of other stakeholders?”

The community has enthusiastically embraced Loella’s so here’s a little way we can give back.
The public beach access at the old Lake’s General Store has been effectively blocked for several weeks. So, down this way adjacent to Loella’s, you can access the beach at Harvey Shore Road.
But here’s another temporary option: access the beach at the old Pentecostal church at 1991 Highway 955, 2 doors away from Loella’s. On the grass, drive straight down to the shore from the right side of the church (facing it). When you approach the water, turn left to follow the mowed grass path. Drive slowly because it’s slightly uneven. Park at the pergola.
If you’re unsure with these direction, stop in the store.
Happy beach day!"

Strait Shores Appointment of Greg Lutes Notice - Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick

At this link:  Notice: Appointment of Supervisor - Strait Shores | Local Governance Commission Of New Brunswick

More here on this story from CHMA FM Mount Allison University radio station reporter Erica Butler:

'I'm being unfairly treated': Strait Shores councillor responds to mayor's accusations of bullying » CHMA

'A great opportunity for Strait Shores': ex-councillor has high hopes for municipality under new supervisor » CHMA

Erica Butler has apparently now departed her job at CHMA FM Mount Allison University.. not sure where she has gone but will attempt to find out.

Did she play a role in the agitation out in Strait Shores? Probably.

What is Andy MacGregor's role also as an agitator and disruptor in the region? Stay tuned.. we'll be taking a closer look at this odd story and the appointment of Greg Lutes and Andy MacGregor.

Any information is welcome in the comment section of this blog.

Thanks.

May 16, 2025:

"On today’s show, we talk with former Strait Shores councillor Andy MacGregor who recently met with the new supervisor appointed to replace Strait Shores council for the next year. “He’s experienced and he knows how to get things done,” says MacGregor. “So I have all the confidence in the world that Greg’s going to do a great job for Strait Shores.”

After a tumultuous three months which involved multiple resignations and reports into council behaviour, the Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick appointed Greg Lutes to replace the remaining, defunct council.

CHMA has reached out to Lutes to ask questions about his work before municipal elections in May 2026 will elect a new council for Strait Shores. We are waiting to hear back.

In the meantime, MacGregor shares his impressions after meeting Lutes, and updates us on the work of two citizens committees that are still active: the Strait Shores tourism committee and the Age Friendly Community committee, which is planning two town hall events this June." - Erica Butler's commentary

Facebook post here:
NOTICE
The Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick has been made aware that, due to councillor resignations, the elected council of the rural community of Strait Shores no longer has enough councillors to form quorum. This means that the council is no longer able to govern and direct the operations of the rural community. As such, the Local Governance Commission has appointed Greg Lutes as Supervisor for Strait Shores as per subsection 26(3) of the Local Governance Commission Act. The appointment of Mr. Lutes is effective April 29, 2025, and he will remain in place until such time as quorum is restored by way of the next general municipal election in May 2026. As Supervisor, Mr. Lutes is authorized to act in the place of the elected council. This notice is provided pursuant to section 31 of the Local Governance Commission Act.
AVIS
