Why donate to "Ducks Unlimited Canada" Grifters? #CONservationists #NGOs #ShawnGraham #JodyCarr

Photography by THE Indie Media Eastcoast of Dominic Leblanc, Beausejour Forum, April 2025

Trust me grifters of "Ducks Unlimited Canada".. the very last thing I will ever do is donate to your greedy organization.. however.. I note that since posting this originally on May 16th, 2026 to the blog your pals and helpful submissive useful idiots at Mount Allison University's CHMA FM are PROMOTING fundraising for your grifter land grabbing organization here:

Ducks Unlimited Canada gearing up for Duck and Run 2026 to help support wetland conservation » CHMA

As a Libertarian I am pro-free speech and pro-liberty...  and I am well aware of how much you folks hate folks like me.. and of course Donna Allen of Tantramar.

Shawn Graham - ex-premier of New Brunswick - is being deeply enriched by "Ducks Unlimited Canada" for his efforts... he seems grossly overpaid to me.

Of Note:

New Brunswick lawyer, podcaster & former Conservative MLA Jody Carr & his CEO wifey Krista Carr [charity grifters] are becoming wealthy grifting at "Inclusion Canada" see:  Grants and Contributions

. . . and read more here:

Wouldn't it be great if a fraction of the money going now to "Ducks Unlimited Canada" was instead diverted to projects that matter to people too?

Such as preserving the culturally iconic covered bridges of New Brunswick.  Just a thought..

Re-Posting" "Hardscrabble"... Local Business is Now "Gaspereau Press" in Sackville N.B.

 REPOSTING FROM JUNE 30, 2025..

Have blogged in the past about this newer local organization here:

Tantramar Grows!: "Not So Soft Grifting" by Hardscrabble Press in Sackville New Brunswick and the Anti Capitalists of Tantramarshire Gatherings

Word has it that the old abandoned Via Rail station stone building in Sackville New Brunswick is going to be put into the hands of this "Hardscrabble" organization.. an interesting story.. and we'll see if that is actually on the books and in the plans soon enough.

Wishing a Happy Turtle Island Day to all Canadians from coast to coast to coast .. eh?

As well as a Happy Loyalist Day to New Brunswickers this month.

Some people think respecting their history is patriotism.. but is it?  Why do some statues get torn down [Cornwallis in Halifax is just one example] and some are getting put up? Who is deciding?

Winston Churchill statue in this screenshot .. installed June 6, 2024 in Calgary Alberta.. imagine that?

"The June 6, 2024 Calgary Churchill Statue Dedication and Sir Winston Churchill Society of Calgary Annual Memorial Banquet with Randolph Churchill III

The Sir Winston Churchill Society of Calgary commemorated D-Day, June 6, 1944 with an 80th anniversary tribute to the Canadians who served that day and on every day during the Second World War.

We did so by erecting a statue of Sir Winston Churchill on McDougall Centre grounds, Calgary, with speeches by the Honourable Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, the Honourable Jason Kenney, Randolph Churchill III, and by Dr. Mark Milke, president of the Sir Winston Churchill Society of Calgary.

We were also pleased to hold our 58th annual memorial dinner and D-Day commemoration, with an address from the great grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, Randolph Churchill III, entitled “Churchill's Linchpin: Canada and the Liberation of Europe.”

Click here calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/sir-winston-churchill-statue-downtown-calgary to read the Calgary Herald column from Churchill Society president Mark Milke explaining why Calgary now has a statue of Winston Churchill at McDougall Centre."

so it would seem that "Hardscrabble" after receiving a few thousands in free money grant dollars from the Town of Sackville was rebranded to "Gaspereau Press" by Keagan Hawthorne.. the printing press owner.. from B.C.

Bruce Wark Reports ... Its Election Time in the Region!

Photography by THE Indie Media Eastcoast - Sackville NB's schedule of meetings of Town Council

This week: Bruce Wark, reporting in Sackville New Brunswick at warktimes.com here:

Tantramar candidates call for town to restore contact info. on new website |

"Many of the candidates running for a seat on Tantramar council on May 11th say the town’s new website that was launched last October should include full contact information for members of council and senior management staff.

“I don’t know what happened to the site that doesn’t show our e-mail addresses, but I will say that I personally think that all councillor e-mail addresses should be listed. I also feel that the CAO & Department Directors should be as well,” Councillor Michael Tower wrote in response to an e-mail from Warktimes."

Retired Mount Allison University employee and long time [over 20 years] Town Councillor Bruce Phinney is up against Andrew Black, Tori Weldon, Josh Goguen, Allison Butcher, Jason Macdonald, Mike Tower and Haidee Robertson for one of four spots in Ward 3 Tantramar .. more than likely once re-elected he will continue to collect $2,000 per month for simply running his mouth and creating division in the town on numerous petty issues.  Bruce Phinney has no website, no X, no Facebook, no social media to speak of.. you will be able to reach him easily by phone and email if you have any questions.

Another Expensive Tantramar Town Hall Hire .. Why? Better Communication Internally?

Why are the "management" staff levels always increasing in this town.. with very highly paid people that appear not to be able to achieve anything for these large paydays that they receive ... so what is the goal?

Bloated bureaucracy is becoming the norm in our government.. waste.. and increased spending.

Why are your taxes increasing on your property>?

Is the current Tantramar Town Hall an inefficient operation and should its staffing be cut? Discuss...

Tantramar Welcomes New Director of Protective Services

More commentary found here:

"Geoff Martin says:

I think candidates for Mayor and Council should be advocating reforming council decision making and the role of councilors. If you are wondering why the policy making on the Tantramar fire department has not gone well, a major undiscussed reason is the structure of council. A citizen recently brought to my attention that Tantramar has no system of either council committees or Liaison Councilors. This is important because that system meant that 1-3 councilors would meet at least monthly with the department head to discuss the issues, and what actions needed to be recommended to council. In the areas of Finance and Administration, Parks and Recreation, and Protective Services, for example, three areas I served on in the 1998-2004 range, someone would be assigned to follow up on things, represent the interests of the council, and bring forward recommendations to the council which they would be able to justify. “How are things going in the Fire Department?” is a question that should have been asked every month over the past several years. No system of committees or Liaison Councilors means a centralization of power in the hands of the CAO and staff, and possibly the Mayor, and look where that got us. If everyone is responsible then often no one is. Veteran councilors who inherited and lived with the old system should have known better when there were proposals to eliminate it. Hopefully the next council will rethink this and restore the role of the regular councilor to specialize in municipal areas of activity in order to better serve the public."

Commentary was found at this April 19th, 2026 article from Bruce Wark's "The New Wark Times" recently at this link:

What to do about Sackville Fire & Rescue? Tantramar mayoralty candidates discuss the ongoing turmoil |

Other expensive hires that appear unnecessary include Jamie Ferguson, Jeff Taylor, Ron Kelly-Spurles and Matt Pryde [who was hired to work in Parks and Rec. for the Town Hall but decided he would relocate himself into the Ice Rink Arena facility.]  All these hires are paid well but none of them seem to be able to get organized enough to actually build a new skatepark or instal an elevator at the ice rink.

“My career as a professional truck driver and my leadership as First Vice President of the Sackville Rod and Gun Club have taught me the importance of hard work, straight talk, and showing up for my neighbours,” he adds.

“Since amalgamation, I have followed our municipality closely and realized I can be an asset on council by bringing a younger perspective to our decision-making. If elected to represent Ward 3, I will bring hands-on accountability to Town Hall.”

The Town CAO Jamie Burke nervously admits they spent $10,000 in fees to 'investigate' Bruce Phinney using an entity called "Renaissance Inc."!  read more at this link:

In Demand: Housing in Tantramar - Is There An Argument In Favour of Funded Costly Co-Op Housing Projects?

[Moncton] Sackville Developments - Page 19 - SkyscraperPage Forum

Salem Properties Inc., would include two new streets. Sheppard Lane would run directly off Queens Road, while Basinview Drive would run parallel to it.

"Town Councillor Bruce Phinney pointed to the $1.1 million rebate that developer John Lafford received for his six-storey, 72-unit apartment building at 131 Main Street and the $1.5 million Lafford and partner Mike Wilson received for a building currently under construction at York Street and Ford Lane with a total of 97 apartment units and about 10,000 square feet of commercial space."

"Council also approved Eric Tusz-King’s application on behalf of Freshwinds Eco-Village Housing Co-operative for a rebate of more than $1.8 million. The co-op plans to build 68 residential units on its property at 64 Fairfield Road with an estimated value of $24 million."

"Council OK’d Artie Kenny’s application on behalf of Salem Properties Inc. for a rebate of $1.5 million. The company is planning to build a total of 87 residential units on its property at 112 Queens Road at an estimated value of $20 million."

"Percy Best says:

Using the given figures above, I am wondering why the Salem Properties Inc project seems to be estimated at $230,000 per unit while the Freshwinds Eco-Village Housing Co-operative is estimated to be $353,000, or over 50 percent more per unit."

Percy Best points out the obvious... that the heavily subsidized co-op housing is MORE costly and not a good investment of money.. and it also undermines the model of private development and private property ownership.
