I had wondered about the sudden death of this Mount Allison University chemistry professor/ researcher as no cause of death was given and so Dr. Stephen Westcott's sudden passing leaves questions.. statement from the university here:

"Cloak of Green" - Elaine Dewar [ Lorimer, 1995] is available at the Mount Allison University library .. maybe ... maybe not .. also, FYI a lot of very 'educated' people haven't even heard of this book... imagine that? Sheesh.
I ordered a copy at Tidewater Books locally to own for my personal library and the lovely owner Ellen Pickle accidentally ordered two copies which was just fine because it made a great gift for my relative who also likes to read books... Tell that to the black population of South Africa who suffered for years under Apartheid until protests against Apartheid in many countries around the world and economic sanctions finally put an end to it. Tell that to the black population of the USA who suffered under segregation, Jim Crow laws, and terrorism imposed on them by ultra right wing groups like the KKK, until the civil rights protests of the 1950’s and 1960’s finally forced the federal
government to protect their rights, including the right to vote, in the deep south states. Martin Luther King and many other activists, both black and white, paid for their commitment to improving the lives of others with their own lives.
I would suggest that you go back to school and take some science and history courses before you spout any more nonsense that you parrot from the right wing publications that you keep citing.

A guy wrote "I've been on the banks of the Athabasca river on a hot summer day & the Bitumen (oil trapped in sand) oozes out of the banks NATURALLY as it has for untold millennium. The vegetation on the reclaimed sites are far more robust and healthy looking than the scrubby Jack Pines that struggle to grown in Bitumen laden earth" ... So....basically, you can look at it like this....by stripping the oil sands of the oil, we are actually CLEANING up a NATURALLY POLLUTED area!!! The pictures I've attached start with a natural area with Bitumen oozing out, open pit mining for oil sands (pretty ugly, but only happens in areas where bitumen is close to the surface), SAGD drilling operations for bitumen at greater depths, & reclaiming of the land after operations. This is the cycle that happens in Canada!"

A few years ago on a very lovely, warm afternoon I was upstairs in the Mount Allison University Library - in the upper floor - and I found this book that had been suggested to me by a man in Ontario a while ago .. The copy of "Cloak of Green" at mta.ca had not been checked out since the mid-1990s .. it was published in 1995 .. written by the amazing Elaine Dewar of Ontario Canada .. Elaine is a thorough researcher and important Canadian author. Her blog here
I really cannot recommend this book enough! Thanks Elaine and thanks Lorimer Publishers in Halifax... also recommend her other books "SMARTS", 'Bones", "The Second Tree" which I purchased through Tidewater Books .. so far I have not read her latest book "The Handover" but she has won awards and it is sure to be another powerful piece of work.
Recommended reading.. 1995, "Cloak of Green" by Elaine Dewar.. I found at copy at the mta.ca library a few years ago .. it hadn't been checked out in 20 years..

Luke Dillard is an independant American filmmaker... glad to see him feature Canada's Dr. Tim Ball in this short documentary from a few years ago .. the film discusses Maurice Strong, and the book "Cloak of Green" by Elaine Dewar [Canadians] and the United Nations and their 'sustainable development' take-down of industrialized societies under the guise of saving the planet but in truth removing prosperity, and liberties.
Congratulations Elaine Dewar, on now having your book "SMARTS", 2015 publishing in China!
