Council Meeting at The Palace - reporting by Erica Butler CHMA university radio station/propaganda HQ

New playground rendering displayed in 2014 at the Palace ..
and yet they never did attempt to address the need for a real concrete skatepark project
that the youth presented for in 2013....
unfortunately the youth project has been consistently ignored by the management.

Town Hall News from CHMA's Eric Butler:

"Sackville Town Council will meet on Monday for its monthly special council meeting.

A special meeting means no motions will be voted on, and none of the reports that councillors read from are available to the public. The only publicly released document for monthly special meetings is the agenda.

Monday’s meeting will have special guests. Mount Allison’s vice president of finance and administration, Robert Inglis, is on the agenda, as is Lauren Clark, the Energy Projects Coordinator from EOS.

And at the top of the agenda, an item simply reading “RCMP” seems to indicate that an officer will be presenting.

Also on the agenda:

  • Council will hear from an Arts Wall Committee member;
  • The policy and bylaw committee looks at the Water and Sewer bylaw, specifically the idea of providing Water for Purposes other than those listed in the By-Law;
  • The fire department talks about training equipment, specifically a Second Generation Forcible Entry Training Simulator.;
  • Treasurer Michael Beal will present end of year finance motions;
  • And council will talk about a Public Works gate and rental space for community groups.

Fifteen minutes are set aside for a question period at the end of the public meeting, for questions from members of the public.

Then council will go in camera to discuss two legal matters and one police matter.

Council has already had two secret, or in camera meetings this week, on Monday and Thursday, to discuss a human resources matter.

Monday’s special meeting will be held online, but is open for public viewing via Youtube. Anyone wishing to ask a question, needs to join the meeting using Microsoft Teams.

You can find links for both on Sackville.com here."

Who is Lauren Clark? Why does it matter? Why does her voice matter? Stakeholder Supremicism [SS]...

Lauren Clark is a graduate of Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Studies. She has worked with youth for many years including with the Katimavik National Experience and the Odyssey program. Lauren worked for EOS in 2015-2016 as a Student Project Assistant and returned in 2019. At EOS she has coordinated solar bulk purchase programs, installed retrofit materials, draft-proofing work parties, energy education programs for youth, and compiled community emissions inventories. Lauren facilitates municipalities’ participation in the Partners for Climate Protection Milestone program to reduce GHG emissions. She organizes solar home tours, creates educational videos, and coordinates Tantramar Climate Change Week (an annual community-based event to raise awareness about climate change and local actions to combat it). Lauren loves spending time outdoors, exploring new places and playing music, as well as dreaming of widespread carpooling and waste sorting.

They do what they want to do with their special agenda. Once you know what that agenda is you don’t fret the small stuff and its all small stuff. Having attended a few town hall meetings in 10 years here [once in the old town hall and once in the new town hall] its with confidence I say this to the general public of individuals in the town: your voice is not needed.. the ‘technocrats’ run this town.. they like it that way and if you meddle with their work you’ll be targetted and labelled a troublemaker by them. The electronic their ‘technocracy’ interractions become the less information and interraction they will have with the general public. Something you could call an echo chamber is developing with the ‘stakeholders’ calling the shots with the paid staff. As a voluntaryist I have no interest in influencing their decisions but I will continue to observe their outcomes and expenditures which are excessive and unwarranted. No one in this town ever asked for a $2million new pond or a $14million town hall with all the bells and whistles but there they are… and yet I’m called a bully or a low class unimportant troublemaker for consistently promoting and advocating for a new concrete skatepark for the youth since 2013. Go figure. I’d run for mayor of the town just to have that project built but my reputation around here was smeared by ‘community organizers’ and ‘stakeholders’ years ago. Thanks for the info Erica.. much appreciate your thoroughness.
