Sappyfest President Miss Jess Grue sent me a message on Facebook last year [before my account was suspended] inviting me to join her for a coffee. Amazing.
That's laughable but it was not necessary as the damage has been done, again, to my reputation online without a single ounce of remorse or forethought. I think it is necessary to have some boundaries and accept that the free speech of others matter especially those you don't agree with.
I know this game because others have tried to play me as well .. I don't reply/respond because I have no intention of sitting down with people who go out of their way to destroy others because of their ideas and beliefs.
The intolerance in this university town is disgusting.. the people here are not educated; they are indoctrinated to a certain set of acceptable beliefs and ideas.

Sappyfest Retro Space Dance Party on Friday, July 28, 2023 at The Legion Branch #26 in Sackville
Calling all Sackville locals and passers-through! Sappy friend Melissa Morris is hosting a RETRO SPACE DANCE PARTY in support of Sappyfest! Dress up (or not!) in your most interstellar attire, gather at the Sackville Legion, and dance your little green heart out! There will be prizes for best costume!

Sappyfest.com 2022 - Vote With Your Money - Boycott Face Mask Mandated Events
Though we have returned to an in-person festival, we understand that the pandemic is still ongoing. In the spirit of community care and to help protect our team, artists, and audiences, masks are required at Sappyfest 17 except when actively eating or drinking.
Please practice good hand hygiene, cough or sneeze into your arm (yes, even when wearing a mask), practice consent when touching people (ask for those hugs and handshakes!), give people the space they need and stay home if you are experiencing ANY symptoms!
Wearing a cloth mask or forgot your mask? Not a problem. Grab some KN95s from our box office or at any Sappyfest venue. We encourage N95 masking. We also have a supply of rapid tests available for anyone in need at our box office!
Sappy-goers who begin experiencing symptoms during the festival should leave and isolate immediately. There will be signage throughout the festival reminding attendees of our COVID-19 protocols.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion!"

As part of the URL: Music & Labour initiative, and against forgetting, Schmidt invited April and Max to discuss the aftermath of a panel they all spoke on in 2015, called Music: Racism, Power and Privilege 101, organized by April in response to the racism of the band of 4 white men called Viet Cong (now known as Preoccupations) in the white Canadian Indie Rock scene. In this conversation the three reflect on how things have changed and the lessons that were learned from the original panel.
