I had the opportunity and pleasure to attend the housing announcement made by the federal government at the Kent Design Centre in Bouctouche on April 5th. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, Minister Dominic LeBlanc, and Minister Gudie Hutchings announced over $600 million to make it easier and cheaper to build more homes, faster. One of the funds announced in this package focused on homebuilding technology and innovation including modular and pre-fab homes. New Brunswick is uniquely positioned to greatly expand not just the quantity of homes built, but also the speed at which they can be built through the many modular operations that exist within this amazing province.
