Premier-designate Holt announces transition team

FREDERICTON (GNB) – A transition team has been appointed by premier-designate Susan Holt to assist her in preparing to be sworn in as New Brunswick's 35th premier. The swearing-in of MLAs and cabinet will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the legislature.

“New Brunswickers have given us a clear message: it is time to get to work,” said Holt. “The transition team has the expertise and experience in various sectors to ensure an efficient transition, especially around governance and policy objectives.”

The team consists of:

·         Kelly Cain: A longtime provincial civil servant, Cain has served as deputy minister of tourism, heritage and culture; human resources; transportation and infrastructure; and intergovernmental affairs. Since January 2024, she has been chief of staff in the Office of the Official Opposition.

·         Katie Davey: The executive director of the Pond-Deshpande Centre, Davey is a public policy expert and formerly a director of policy and media at the Public Policy Forum in Ottawa.

·         Len Hoyt: Lead partner at McInnes Cooper's Fredericton office, and a former chair of the law firm's board of directors, Hoyt has served on two previous transition teams and as an executive lead of the strategic program review, which preceded the province’s finances returning to surplus in 2017-18.

·         Serge Rousselle: A professor of law at the Université de Moncton and a constitutional expert, Rousselle is a former provincial cabinet minister and member of the legislature.

The transition team’s aim is to ensure that Holt and her incoming MLAs are able to deliver on the issues most important to New Brunswickers, such as health care and affordability.

NB NDP Candidate Evelyne Godfrey - Campaigning in Tantramar - Election 2024 - Arthur Taylor NDP Candidate in Fredericton on Twitter

Erica Butler spoke with Evelyne Godfrey about her campaign for MLA as an NDP candidate in 2024 at this link [ Thursdays at noon you'll find Godfrey at the Mount Allison University "Gracie's Cafe" doing outreach to the students there]:

NB NDP candidate Evelyne Godfrey talks campaigning for ‘party of the left’ » CHMA, Voice of the Marshes (chmafm.com)

"The last time Evelyne Godfrey ran for the NDP she was vying for a federal seat in parliament. This time, the Port Elgin archeologist is running for the New Brunswick NDP as they attempt to rebuild their position as a significant third party in the province.

Godfrey says it’s going well so far, even suggesting that NDP leader Alex White might beat Blaine Higgs in the Quispamsis riding. “I think [he] has a good chance of defeating the current premier and taking that seat,” says Godfrey."

Fellow NDP Candidate Arthur Taylor in Fredericton NB has made some commentary on Twitter today about Blaine Higgs which should be duly noted by Evelyne Godfrey...

Mayor of Tantramar Andrew Black in Fredericton...

Andrew Black is a schmoozer who likes photo ops and empty virtue signalling as he attempts to climb the rungs of the ladder of political life..

he meets with the people he thinks will help to advance his status in politics.. he is a technocrats tool and a lackey of the progressives in Tantramar..

Politics is a dirty game... only the go-alongs to get alongs are attracted to this racket.  #NotMyMayor

photo from Dominic Leblanc's Facebook page....

Is little Andrew in MP Dominic's back pocket? Yes.

Tomorrow I will be heading to Fredericton to sit with the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance in preparation of the 2024 federal budget. I am honored, and admittedly a little nervous, to attend this important session. I have 5 minutes to give opening remarks to the MPs that make up the committee and then there will be lots of time for the committee members to ask questions.
Stay tuned.....I will post an update on how everything went and what was discussed."

Libertarian Party of Canada - Tim Moen with Brandon Kirby, Fredericton - Facebook discussions

An "illuminating" discussion found at 'Libertarian Party of Canada' on Facebook... see video from December 23, 2020 at https://www.facebook.com/libertarianCDN

A Libertarian in New Brunswick? Yes. Brandon Kirby - Fredericton

Tune in to the Facebook page for the Libertarian Party of Canada where you'll find party leader Tim Moen and Brandon Kirby on December 23rd, 2020 discuss many interesting issues with many expletives, most appropriate during the covidshitshow:

More Brandon at his Facebook page:

There's a horrifying reality to the Bank of Canada telling us that inflation is under 2%. It's that we know they're being dishonest. Housing/rent prices are surging to 10%, CAD-to-gold is at 10%, power and grocery bills are sky high, and we have individuals in charge of the monetary supply that know nothing about monetary supply. People are hurting, our cost of living has never been higher, and we're being lied to saying everything is ok.

Brandon Kirby - Libertarian Candidate for Fredericton

Here are my list of grievances for this year's Festivus:

1) Canada is allowing sex trafficking and doing jack shit to combat the money laundering that attracts it.

2) Canada is complicit in the genocide in North Yemen, and actually negotiating trade deals with the people carrying it out, knowing full well they fund terrorists trying to kill us.

3) Debt, this is the worst year on record for debt. We're going to wind up like Greece where they work 12-14 hour days 6-7 days each week just to feed our families.

4) Trudeau is attempting to ban our means of self-defence despite evidence that it won't diminish gun violence.

5) COVID-19 - this thing has been a real pain in the ass. Stop eating exotic animals, you're not sophisticated and cultured by doing it.

Feats of strength to follow.

Brandon Kirby - Libertarian Candidate for Fredericton

Our government has spent $4 billion on housing initiatives for the homeless. We currently have 30,000 homeless in Canada. If we bought 5 bedroom houses to house all of them, it would only cost $1.2 billion. Instead, we wind up paying government bureaucrats billions of dollars and accomplishing nothing to reduce homelessness, and sit around using empty buzzwords like 'stakeholders' 50 times in hopes that it makes them sound intelligent. Our politicians keep talking about the right to housing. Better than the right to a house is an actual house. We need to eliminate mortgage regulations that prevent us from buying homes and building homes; thereby driving down the cost of housing.

Being Libertarian - Brandon Kirby - Fredericton New Brunswick - 2019

The true SNC Lavalin scandal: Energy East was cancelled while Irving Oil imports Saudi oil at the refinery. Who has the contracts with Saudi Aramco (Saudi Arabia's nationalized oil company)? SNC Lavalin. Right now you can go to snclavalin.com, type 'Saudi' in the search bar, and you'll see all of their contracts. New Brunswick is losing out on $6 billion, while SNC Lavalin makes millions. Justin Trudeau is the ultimate Dr. Evil, "Why make billions Number 2, when we can make millions?"
This is money that goes to fund Saudi Arabia's genocide in Yemen, their vicious treatment of women, and a police state that executes members of the LGBTQ+ community.
@@@@@

I had the opportunity and good fortune to speak recently with Mr. Kirby ...
he is a very intelligent and informed individual and I thanked him for his attempt
to spread the message of liberty in the belly of the beast known as Freddytown....
Brandon also has a podcast

I hope to just try to help others connect in New Brunswick
because politics is downstream of culture...

Leader of Libertarian Party of Canada is Mr. Tim Moen,
based in Alberta who I met by chance a few years ago
