As we stood alone in an empty warehouse and head office staring at the left over racking and shelves. We imagined them in the past filled to capacity with beautiful exotic hard wood furniture, all destined to become part of people’s homes across Canada.
We teared up as a flood of memories hit us, none negative, only ones of fun, excitement, and enthusiasm. There was always a palpable buzz in the office and stores when a container of beautiful new furniture pieces arrived. Today as we are in the process of closing down , we want to thank everyone who stood by us and or left us due to circumstances and were let go . We broke many hearts , there were tears and lots of great employees that left us this year. We also want to acknowledge those who struggled with the continuous changes and reactive attitude in our decisions. This includes employees , suppliers and loyal customers. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Many things have not been in our control and the more we tried to hold on to things the more they slipped out of our hands . We could sit here and write more about how we feel but today we just want to focus on those lovely people who are continuing to support us and ones who are not with us . We wish you all the best of luck. Wicker Emporium has been so so lucky to have you . WE thank you all from the bottom of our heart for supporting a local Nova Scotian based family business. Grateful to all of our customers , suppliers, employees , friends and family who supported us for the last 47 years 🙏🏽

Founder Madan Kapahi, opened the first wicker emporium in 1972 so that he could share treasures from his home country of India with his new friends in Nova Scotia. Through years of work and dedication wicker emporium has grown from a small boutique in Halifax, Nova Scotia, into a household name within Atlantic Canada. The business continues to expand under the combined efforts of Madan, his son Raj, and extended family and friends.
