James Bissett: Issues in Canadian Immigration and Refugee Policy



Refugee Policy is extremely important and policy should be sensible not wreckless.  As of 2001, Canada had 579,000 muslims which is 2% of the populatlion growing to 1,053,845 which is 3.2% of our population by 2012; an enormous increase; and roughly speaking about 1/4 of the immigrants we bring in now are muslims .. these immigrants can bring their relatives in as well ... under 'family reunification' ... increasing care costs as they age and burden the medical system...
