Gab is re-architecting the entire internet user experience from the browser level on up so that any data handed over is minimal and if done so at all is done with full transparency of what's being done via open source code.

When a user deletes their account, we delete their data. We're not interested in building shadow profiles of them and following them around the Internet; we're interested in cutting off the flow of data to the Silicon Valley tech giants and building a freer internet in its place.

What most don’t realize is when you cut off the flow of data to Silicon Valley, you cut off Silicon Valley’s bloodline. By simply installing the Dissenter browser you are cutting off Silicon Valley’s access to you and your data, which they can no longer monetize.

Our business model is based not around selling data but rather on allowing people to pay for services in arms-length transactions that guarantee that they retain control over whatever data they place in our custody.

“Data is the new oil” is a misnomer. 

I am not a product to be mined. 

My thoughts and expressions are not yours to sell. 

You do not own me. 

When the masses realize these simple truths, Big Tech is doomed.

The only way out is to build. The government isn’t going to save you. Most governments around the world are pushing for even more censorship and control. It’s up to us to save ourselves.

We are working diligently daily towards these goals and dreams of a more free and open internet. One built by The People via open source, funded by people and not advertisers, and grounded in the fundamental human right to speak freely.

When you've committed wrong-speak, wrong-think, wrong-act, the 'community' will always let you know your crimes by banning, suspending, shadow banning, mobbing, targetting, threatening, suing, snitching, shunning, muzzling, deriding, slandering, deplatforming, blocking, etc. etc. .. you name it and they'll do it...  if you piss off the 'community'.  There's plenty of OK hate speech [against whites] but anyone paying attention knows that 'white are the new global jews'.

Earlier today, Gab took the difficult decision to permanently ban the @Patrick_Littleaccount from our site.

This decision was not taken lightly.

The @Patrick_Little account contained a great deal of what could be described as outrageously offensive speech, or "hate speech." However, the account was not banned for posting hate speech. In keeping with our mission of being the home of free speech online, Gab does not moderate speech which is merely offensive or outrageous, including hate speech, as the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that "hate speech" is protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. See Matal v. Tam, 582 U.S. __ (2017).

Where speech on the platform ceases to be protected by the First Amendment, as in e.g. a true threat or harassment scenario, and this is brought to our attention, Gab will not hesitate to take immediate action to enforce our Community Guidelines.

In this instance, Gab determined that Gabs posted to the @Patrick_Little account crossed the line by encouraging its followers to harass private citizens who were not the subject of any public controversy. This attempted harassment included but was not limited to offering to distribute the "dox," or personal contact information, of the targets of the harassment. Per a recent appeal of a pre-trial motion to dismiss in Gersh v. Anglin, "exploiting the prejudices widely held among [a publisher's] readers to specifically target" private citizens is not protected by the First Amendment and violates our Community Guidelines. 

This discovery triggered an investigation which revealed a threat to commit criminal vandalism. True threats are also not protected by the First Amendment and violate our Community Guidelines. 

Accordingly Gab has permanently suspended the account.

Although we are pro-freedom, we are not pro-anarchy. Our mission is to show that it is possible to build a sustainable social media business without meddling with or influencing the things our users choose to discuss and read.

Much has been made recently of social media companies' moderation policies seeking to strike balances between civility and liberty. Civility-oriented moderation strategies are referred to as the "European tradition" and liberty-oriented strategies are referred to as the "American tradition."

We follow the American tradition to the letter and will continue to do so as long as the company exists.

"You'll find plenty of offensive and politically incorrect speech on Gab. To suggest otherwise is nonsense. Offensive and politically incorrect speech is part and parcel of free expression. 

Criticize, mock, and shun any race, religion, sexuality, gender, and creed you want. That's part of free speech. Comedy would not exist without this. I love comedy. I love being offended and being able to laugh at myself and my own beliefs from time to time. I love being able to laugh at others in the company of others. 

When you cross into making threats, promoting violence, doxxing, etc you are no longer in the free speech territory and you should expect us to take action. 

I have zero sympathy for people who continually break our guidelines--especially around threats and doxxing which we have zero tolerance for. 

I have zero sympathy for people who have broken our guidelines in the past, been warned, and continued to break the guidelines. 

I have zero sympathy for people who cost us 6 weeks worth of engineering time and nearly $100,000 in contract fees with the Microsoft Azure fiasco this summer.

Gab has spent the past 48 hours proudly working with the DOJ and FBI to bring justice to an alleged terrorist. Because of the data we provided, they now have plenty of evidence for their case. In the midst of this Gab has been no-platformed by essential internet infrastructure providers at every level. We are the most censored, smeared, and no-platformed startup in history, which means we are a threat to the media and to the Silicon Valley Oligarchy.

Gab isn’t going anywhere.

It doesn’t matter what you write. It doesn’t matter what the sophist talking heads say on TV. It doesn’t matter what verified nobodies say on Twitter. We have plenty of options, resources, and support. We will exercise every possible avenue to keep Gab online and defend free speech and individual liberty for all people.

You have all just made Gab a nationally recognized brand as the home of free speech online at a time when Silicon Valley is stifling political speech they disagree with to interfere in a US election.

The internet is not reality. TV is not reality. 80% of normal everyday people agree with Gab and support free expression and liberty. The online outrage mob and mainstream media spin machine are the minority opinion. People are waking up, so please keep pointing the finger at a social network instead of pointing the finger at the alleged shooter who holds sole responsibility for his actions.

No-platform us all you want. Ban us all you want. Smear us all you want.
