Erica Butler has apparently now departed her job at CHMA FM Mount Allison University.. not sure where she has gone but will attempt to find out.

Did she play a role in the agitation out in Strait Shores? Probably.

What is Andy MacGregor's role also as an agitator and disruptor in the region? Stay tuned.. we'll be taking a closer look at this odd story and the appointment of Greg Lutes and Andy MacGregor.

Any information is welcome in the comment section of this blog.

Thanks.

May 16, 2025:

"On today’s show, we talk with former Strait Shores councillor Andy MacGregor who recently met with the new supervisor appointed to replace Strait Shores council for the next year. “He’s experienced and he knows how to get things done,” says MacGregor. “So I have all the confidence in the world that Greg’s going to do a great job for Strait Shores.”

After a tumultuous three months which involved multiple resignations and reports into council behaviour, the Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick appointed Greg Lutes to replace the remaining, defunct council.

CHMA has reached out to Lutes to ask questions about his work before municipal elections in May 2026 will elect a new council for Strait Shores. We are waiting to hear back.

In the meantime, MacGregor shares his impressions after meeting Lutes, and updates us on the work of two citizens committees that are still active: the Strait Shores tourism committee and the Age Friendly Community committee, which is planning two town hall events this June." - Erica Butler's commentary

NOTICE
The Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick has been made aware that, due to councillor resignations, the elected council of the rural community of Strait Shores no longer has enough councillors to form quorum. This means that the council is no longer able to govern and direct the operations of the rural community. As such, the Local Governance Commission has appointed Greg Lutes as Supervisor for Strait Shores as per subsection 26(3) of the Local Governance Commission Act. The appointment of Mr. Lutes is effective April 29, 2025, and he will remain in place until such time as quorum is restored by way of the next general municipal election in May 2026. As Supervisor, Mr. Lutes is authorized to act in the place of the elected council. This notice is provided pursuant to section 31 of the Local Governance Commission Act.
AVIS
