In St. John’s, John Haggie, Newfoundland and Labrador’s minister of health, announces initiatives to strengthen the health-care system in the province. The government will provide financial support for family doctors opening a new practice, create more collaborative team clinics, and expand virtual care. The province is also committing to increase the number of graduates from licensed personal care and nursing programs and to establish a health recruitment office.
