Nursing Homes Without Walls needs help moving a senior, whose identity is confidential for privacy reasons, from Baie Verte to Dorchester by May 5th.
This senior, who is a recent widower, was living in a trailer in Baie Verte when he received notice that the property his home is on was sold.
He was told he had to vacate the property by May 15th.
Senior Navigator of Nursing Homes Without Walls Terissa Salmon says that this senior’s family lives in Ontario and British Columbia, so they are not permitted to enter the province to help him move his things.
So Salmon is reaching out to the community to find able-bodied helpers to move his boxes into a new apartment Nursing Homes Without Walls was able to secure in Dorchester.
If anyone is able to help, or know someone else who might be able to, call 506-538-1904 and leave a message.
The organization is looking for as many people as possible, and as many vehicles as possible since the move needs to be done in one day. Anyone with a truck is encouraged to reach out.
