This is a conversation between April Aliermo, Max Mohenu and Simone Schmidt. As part of the URL: Music & Labour initiative, and against forgetting, Schmidt invited April and Max to discuss the aftermath of a panel they all spoke on in 2015, called Music: Racism, Power and Privilege 101, organized by April in response to the racism of the band of 4 white men called Viet Cong (now known as Preoccupations) in the white Canadian Indie Rock scene. In this conversation the three reflect on how things have changed and the lessons that were learned from the original panel.
from the Sappyfest new 2020 youtube channel.
Simone honey... this new youtube channel makes it clear that you have zero connection to this town.
What you should do is stop focussing on race and get back to good music, food, and fun times... there is too much division in society due to university educated and indoctrinated social justice minions flapping their gums and spamming all online spaces with their bullshit.
