I too remain instinctively hostile to communitarian philosophy... that's why I avoid places where communitarians are hanging out .. it makes me uncomfortable.. they are a cult....
I've known about communitarianism since 2013 by reading Niki Raapanda & Nordica Friedrich's book "2020: Our Common Destiny & The Anti-Communitarian Manifesto" [ ACL Books, Alaska USA ] Once you understand.. its hard to ignore the commi b.s. as they always socially engineer the general public.. it is a relentless programming using the feel good terms and word 'community'.
I suppose when I moved here I really had no idea what academia was like -- to be honest I was absolutely clueless.... I've had an education in communitarian behaviour since 2010. One woman called me the "mole" .. hilarious.
