The Passion of Jordan Peterson [speech to Blue Awakening, Tallinn]

Ricardo Duchesne - Gatekeepers Jordan Peterson, Steven Pinker, Jonathan Haidt

Ricardo Duchesne, Professor at The University of New Brunswick, Canada, is the author of The Uniqueness of Western Civilization (2011), Faustian Man in a Multicultural Age, and Canada In Decay: Mass Immigration, Diversity, and the Ethnocide of Euro-Canadians. He is one of the co-editors and principal writer of the blog Council of European Canadians. He is the only academic in Canada, and possibly the Western world, who rejects the diversification of Western nations in favour of European Ethnic Identity.

Ricardo returns to Red Ice for a scintillating discussion about three prominent conservative personalities: Jordan Peterson, Steven Pinker, and Jonathan Haidt. Ricardo also talks about his latest book, Canada in Decay. His latest work is an effort to explain why diversification was imposed across the West. While it focuses primarily on Canada, Ricardo provides an explanation as to why the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and then Europe began similar, concurrent transformations. Our program then switches gears to focus on Jordan Peterson. Ricardo provides detailed insight into Peterson’s strengths and weaknesses as a prominent public intellectual. Secondly, we go on to discuss the ideas of Steven Pinker. Ricardo systematically refutes Pinker’s optimistic view of the present state of the West. The first hour also addresses identity, globalism, and the inevitable intensification of politics.

In the member’s hour, Henrik and Ricardo provide an examination and refutation of the works of Jonathan Haidt. We discuss the tendency of contemporary psychology to treat ethnocentric attachment as a psychological problem, even though in-group preferences are a biological reality. Henrik and Ricardo then examine neoconservatism’s supplanting of paleoconservatism. Ricardo then addresses authoritarianism from different perspectives. The program then moves on to the politics of identity and the divisive nature of multiculturalism. The second hour also delves into the prospect of whites affirming their own white identity; mainstream conservatism’s attempts to act as cultural gatekeepers; and much more.

Jordan Peterson's Rejection Of Identity Politics Allows White Ethnocide

Jordan Peterson's Rejection Of Identity Politics Allows White Ethnocide <---- CEC article [most popular] by Prof. Ricardo Duchesne...

The only way the identity politics of the left can be effectively challenged is with an identity politics that recognizes the biological grounding of humans as well as the kinship-based identities of nations.

Jan Ott & Siobhán Higgins-Welter - Ancient European Prehistory: The Frisien Ora Linda Book

Jan Ott (MSc) studied statistics, biomechanics, anatomy and consciousness in Amsterdam but later became interested in Germanic mythology, history and languages. Since 2009 he has studied the Oera Linda Book and hopes to publish a new English translation this year. Dr. Siobhán Higgins-Welter is a historian and literary scholar who has researched and published on early modern European history, society and literature. She has lectured in Ireland and Britain on topics concerning ancient European history, Anglo-Saxon literature, and the culture of the European Middle Ages.

Henrik has Jan on the show once again to discuss his ongoing translation and study of the Oera Linda Book (OLB), an ancient Frisian manuscript. We are also joined by Jan’s colleague Siobhán who has leant her expertise to the project. The OLB tells a story that begins in the 6th century BC and contains information predating 1500 BC. Shortly after Jan’s first program with Red Ice, Siobhán contacted Jan and said that she was interested in assisting with the project. Henrik asks Siobhán to talk about why she became interested in working with Jan on the OLB. Siobhán states that she started to read the older translation and it resonated with her because it was reminiscent of other Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, ancient German, Roman, and other sources that convinced her that it was indeed authentic. The discussion then turns to the cross-correlation of spiritual themes across European cultures such as the Cult of the Mothers. The first hour also delves into the state of Irish historiography, the potentially disruptive nature of historical discoveries, history’s inexorable link to the politics of identity, the challenges faced by translators when grappling with the language and chronology of ancient manuscripts, and more.

The second hour starts off with a discussion about the veneration of the cyclical in the OLB. Jan and Henrik speak about the interconnectedness of Yule, Yuletide, the symbol of the wheel, time, Jul feasting, and the Old Frisian alphabet. The conversation then moves to the nature of the language in the OLB. The alphabet was said to have been created by the mythological folk mother, Frya, and was based on the six-spoke wheel, the JOL or Yule. Henrik remarks upon the similarities with the gothic language and Gothic script. Jan describes the variety of writing styles and spellings within the manuscript. For instance, word meanings and spellings often diverge in different sections of the text. Jan and Henrik discuss the manuscript’s first emergence in 1867, when Cornelis Over de Linden enlisted a Frisian history and language research society to assist in deciphering and translating it. Jan also talks about the group of people that originally compiled the various texts from various burgs in the sixth century BC. Jan reveals that the history of how Cornelis came to possess the tome is a long and convoluted history in itself. The second hour also delves into the OLBs esoteric conceptualization of race, 16th and 17th century Frisian historiography, and Jan’s vision for the published version of the work.

The Political Economy of "Truth and Reconciliation": Neotribal Rentierism and the Creation of the Victim/Perpetrator Dichotomy - Frances Widdowson

The Political Economy of “Truth and Reconciliation”:
Neotribal Rentierism and the Creation of the

Paper Presented at the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Political Science Association, Ryerson University, May 30-June 1, 2017

In his 2013 book Truth and Indignation, Ronald Niezen shows how the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has transformed the assessment of the residential schools. While historically the schools were seen as a paternalistic and misguided effort to “protect, civilize and assimilate” the aboriginal population,1 they now are described as instruments of “cultural genocide”. This assessment, according to Niezen, is due to the increasing tendency to conceptualize aboriginalnon-aboriginal relations in terms of a “victim/perpetrator dichotomy”.2 In such a dichotomy, all aboriginal people are seen as victims and all non-aboriginal people perpetrators, obscuring the complex historical interaction within and between these two, very diverse, categories of people. Although Niezen’s book is an important addition to the literature, in that it shows how historical viewpoints on aboriginal-non-aboriginal relations are being transformed by entities like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, his work is limited by the fact that he does not explain why this has occurred. More specifically, Niezen does not recognize how the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is the product of particular historical and material circumstances connected to the processes of neotribal rentierism. As will be explained below, neotribal rentierist processes are oriented towards extracting “rent” so as to incorporate aboriginal groups into late capitalism. The “rent” being sought3 in this instance is the dispersal of compensation payments – a form of circulation that is becoming increasingly common in addressing the conflicts between aboriginal peoples and the Canadian state. The creation of a victim/perpetrator dichotomy justifies these payments, but it also acts to disguise the connection between the development of capitalism and the residential schools. The uncritical reliance on unsubstantiated aboriginal memories by “truth and reconciliation” processes, as well as postmodern relativism’s opposition to developing a universal conception of history, also has impeded understanding...
