"Listing Description

CUSTOM-DESIGNED HOME TUCKED INTO A BEAUTIFUL PARK-LIKE PROPERTY IN DOWNTOWN SACKVILLE! This home was thoughtfully designed to combine the character and proportions of a heritage home with the comfort and efficiency of modern construction. The driveway leads you into this truly breathtaking property, with extensive stonework, granite pathways, a private firepit, and a bonus detached workshop shed with carport. The property is surrounded by stunning mature pine and oak trees, and established gardens with rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolia, and forsythia. The exterior is clad in BC cedar shingles, with a newer metal roof installed. From the moment you step inside, youll notice the details - deep teak-clad windowsills, substantial baseboards, birch hardwood flooring, and antique reconditioned doors from an 1840s Point de Bute farmhouse. The main floor has a large kitchen with peninsula, a den/family room, a dining room, a main floor bedroom and adjoining half bathroom, as well as a large studio space (easily converted to a second large living room) stretching across the front. The second floor has hardwood flooring throughout the bonus living area, two guest bedrooms with a dedicated full bathroom, as well as the primary suite with an ensuite bathroom with claw-footed tub. The partially finished lower level offers fantastic additional space and was previously used in part as a kiln and glaze room, while a large main-floor room served as a pottery studio - perfect for an artist, home business, studio, or additional living space. The home was designed with heavily insulated exterior walls, insulated interior service walls, hot-water electric heating, and an air exchanger. Tucked away high on Campbell's Hill, with access to the Sackville Waterfowl Park at the bottom of the hill, and within easy walking distance of everything Sackville has to offer. (30390737)

Acadia Podcast Insights with Kent Building Supplies - Celebrating 50th Anniversary - Atlantic Canada Building Supply Company

Listen at this link:  Kent Building Supplies is the Largest Building Supply Company in Atlantic Canada. from Insights with Don Mills and David Campbell- An Acadia Broadcasting Podcast | Podcast Episode on Podbay

Our Insights Podcast this week features a conversation with Rannie MacDonald, the VP of JD Irving's Retail Division and Patrick O'Neil, the General Manager of Kent Building Supplies that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Since its founding in Bouctouche (Kent County), Kent has become the market leader in the region in building supplies. Most Atlantic Canadians have shopped at a Kent's at one time or the other. The company has 48 retail outlets ranging in size from its large big box stores of up to 125,000 square feet to its smaller 24,000 square foot sized traditional stores located in smaller communities. Kent has become one of the region's largest private sector employers, with 3,700 full-time employees generating more than $200 million in wages that are mostly spent in the region. It supports nearly 1,400 vendors in the region, spending $300 million a year on local goods and services. It has a major 560,000 square foot distribution centre in Moncton with over 25,000 product skus and sources the vast majority of its products from Canadian manufacturers. Indeed, only 10 percent of their products come from US suppliers. It has spun off Atlas Structural Systems that now has 11 locations and an incremental 600 employees, as well as Industrial Commercial Supplies with another 100 employees. It is proudly an Atlantic Canadian success story and one that you will enjoy learning more about.
