Answering "Les Hicks' Diatribe comment" left at Bruce Wark's website

Hemp History Week - since 2015..... June 3-9, 2019, tell your friends....

Les Hicks says:
Sigh, here we go again. Another diatribe from the mysterious TLA who doesn’t have the moral fortitude to sign their real name to their posts that criticize Bruce’s articles or other readers’ comments using pseudo science from individuals with highly questionable motives. The latest example is the referencing of ‘Plants need CO2.org’. According to the center for Media and Democracy, “H. Leighton Steward is the spokesman for front group Plants Need CO2 (the 501(c)(3) backed by coal baron Corbin Robertson) and the registrant of its PlantsNeedCO2.org website. According to its corporate Certificate of Formation[1], Steward is also a director at oil and gas company EOG Resources, formerly known as Enron Oil and Gas Company, where he earned $617,151 in 2008. Steward also serves as an honorary director of the American Petroleum Institute.”
According to Desmog Blog, “H. Leighton Steward was a signatory of a petition (PDF) organized by Richard Lindzen of the Cato Institute urging President Donald Trump to pull the United States out of the United Nations international convention on climate change (UNFCCC). ‘In just a few weeks, more than 300 eminent scientists and other qualified individuals from around the world have signed the petition below,’ Lindzen wrote in the letter. DeSmog investigated the list, and found that only a small handful of the signatories could be considered “even remotely ‘qualified’ or ‘eminent’ — but not in the field of climate science. The list included individuals “interested in climate,” and one signatory who only identified as an “emailer who wished to sign the petition” while some signers provided no affiliation or address whatsoever. H. Leighton Steward was listed among “Key Scientists” appearing in Marc Morano’s movie, Climate Hustle. The film was produced by the Committee for Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) and CDRCommunications. As noted at Desmog’s project, ClimateHustler.org, CFACT has received funding from ExxonMobil, Chevron, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars from foundations associated with Richard Mellon Scaife. CFACT has also received at least $7.8 million in “dark money” through DonorsTrust and Donors Capital Fund.”
I could go on and on with other references but I’ll leave it to you to research further where your highly spun information is coming from. Needless to say, I doubt that most readers of The New Wark Times pay any heed to any of your posts anyway, so why not save us all from the aggravation and feed your propaganda to the other members of the TLA, if there actually are any.
Have a nice day."

A response from someone paying attention since moving here in 2010:
Wark has a tendency to censor my comments often...  hence the need for an alternative website in this region ... I don't work for the CBC, clearly... and I really don't care for people who say have a nice day.. they're boring...  Do you like to read books Les? How about "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton? [Richard Lindzen's roommate at university]  Should I trust Desmog? Why do you? Why wouldn't oil and gas industries promote themselves in a positive light?  They work hard to contribute to our economy and quality of life.  What is this "Dark money?" sounds very ominous and sinister.. like the " Intellectual Dark Web " ..so  are you suggesting oil and gas are somehow subversive and if so does that mean gas station owners are ' agents ' of darkness .. sounds like a conspiracy theory to me... Les.... what gives?
Its OK not to want to promote and support Saudi Oil when we have great Canadian oil and gas to promote for our nation's prosperity....  Les.  What do you do for a living?
So I put forth the alternative to the pounding relentless 'diatribe' of the technocrats -- over here on this site on my blogger where no one gets to muzzle me and because the average common sense Canadian is not so easily duped by the climate fear porn club... the 'consensus science' con has gone on long enough and realizing who is behind the anti-oil and gas propaganda is just as important to me as realizing who is funding ' Big Green ' .. at this point you can stay passive and hope for the best or you can resist.. I choose resistance.  Carbon tax is theft - a scam - a robbery and anyone promoting it is not looking out for Canadians.  Why would anyone in a cold country such as Canada seek to turn off the tap for oil and gas?

I suppose its fair to say that most people who think in a small box, like Les, are comfy just being told what its OK to say and to think.. I know I'm nobody's fool though  .... I say " Drill .. Baby .. Drill ! "
